Safe Place Spruces Up for Spring

This year, Nexus Youth and Families came together with program participants to celebrate Safe Place week and spruce up the area around the Auburn campus and Les Gove Park. Thanks to generous donations from the Federal Way and Kent Home Depot as well as the East Kent Hill Nursery, the group was able to plant over 35 plants, flowers, and seeds. The day also provided opportunities to educate youth on ways to alleviate issues we face.

National Safe Place Week is celebrated on March 19-25, 2017. This annually recognized week serves to recognize the many valued partners who work together to provide immediate help and safety for all young people and is a dedicated time to acknowledge licensed Safe Place agencies.

Nexus runs a Safe Place Program in partnership with Youth Care and Friends of Youth so teens have access to safety and shelter when they need it most. Take a look at some of the photos from the day below!
